Yearning

The women discovered something they had lost.
The men would have problems believing.
But eventually they would all show the world:
there is still hope.
Not in governments.
Not in institutions.
Not in authorities.
Not in power.
Not in rumors.
Not in news.
Not in riches.
Not in fame.
Not in might.
Not in tech.
Not in smarts.
Not in skills.
There is hope in the one who gives victory—by losing.
There is hope in the one who shows grace—by being shamed.
There is hope in the one who died—and rose again.
There is hope because Christ chose his creations.
Faulty, broken,
proud, stubborn,
selfish, solipsistic…
Yet Christ chose us.
Christ has faith in us.
To repent, to show love for others,
to give without expecting return,
to serve others, to love others,
to live the faith for which others yearn.
Christ has hope in us.
Christ has hope in you.
Show all the world.
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
